Bill Hensler has been a Financial Advisor since the year 2000. He has a passion for helping individuals, families and businesses build wealth over time with conservative investment strategies and principles. Bill believes all investors should have the opportunity to learn about the importance for planning for their future and building a plan to get there.
Following graduation from Purdue University in 1985, Bill was an Ag Chemical Manufacturers Rep with Monsanto, American Cyanamid and BASF for fifteen years. In the year 2000, Bill launched his Financial Advisor career with JJB Hilliard, WL Lyons in Madison, IN. In 2006, Bill was approached to start up a bank program called River Valley Wealth Management, ten years later that business was rebranded Gateway Investment Services, Inc., as an independent financial services firm. In 2018 GIS moved to their own building located at 201 Clifty Drive, Madison, IN.
Bill currently hold Series 7 and 66 FINRA registrations* and state life and health insurance licenses. Bill’s primary focus is wealth management services. These services include: retirement planning, income distribution, education savings, 401k distribution education, Life, Long-Term Care and Medicare Supplement insurance, as well as, small business retirement solutions. *Registrations are held through LPL Financial.
Community involvement is important to Bill. Over the years he has served on the board of directors for many local charities and non-profits such as Pathways Youth Shelter and Learning Center, The Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County, Bethany Legacy Foundation Finance Committee and the Jefferson County 4-H Program. Additionally, Bill has served as an elected official in Jefferson County, IN, as a County Councilman.
Bill’s home is located on a Hoosier Homestead Family Farm, where five generations of Henslers have lived. Bill is an avid Purdue sports fan, and loves to participate in many outdoors activities. Bill was married to his wife, Jennifer, in 1986 and they have two grown children, Katie and Ross, and two granddaughters, Hallie and Emma Kate Hopkins.
