Tanner Mahoney

Tanner Mahoney has been a financial advisor since 2014 when he joined William H. Hensler at River Valley Wealth Management.  Together they went on to found Gateway Investment Services in 2016.  Currently, Tanner holds multiple licenses with LPL Financial, including his series 7, series 65, series 63, as well as health, life, and long-term care insurance licenses in multiple states. In addition, Tanner has also earned the professional designation of a Professional Plan Consultant (PPC). This designation demonstrates his commitment to crafting tailored financial plans that align with clients' unique needs and objectives.

Born and raised in Jefferson County, Tanner has deep roots within the community and a strong commitment to its growth and prosperity.  After graduating from Georgetown College in 2014, he wanted to come back and start a career in his hometown. Georgetown gave him the foundation for his career in financial services, while his practical experience over the years has enabled him to provide clients with well informed and strategic financial advice. 

In his professional life, Tanner enjoys giving back to the local community. He has served as a past member of the Jefferson County Youth Shelter Board.  He is a current member of the Jefferson County Community Foundation Board, the Jefferson County Extension Board, and the Jefferson County Fair Board. Through these board memberships, he actively promotes philanthropy, agricultural education, and the enhancement of the county fair, all of which contribute to the overall development of the community.

Tanner is happily married to Sarah Mahoney and together they have two daughters, Hayden and Avery.  If they are not working or traveling, they can be found on their family farm in Jefferson County.  There, they take pride in raising livestock and cultivating a strong sense of community and responsibility within their family.
